Beidelman breaks 1,000 career points

Junior Megan Beidelman scored her 1,000th career point for the Lady Cougars last month.

Beidelman went into the game against Huntington just nine points shy of 1,000.

“I was aware that I was nine points away before starting the game,” Beidelman said, ”but I didn’t think about this game any more than I did any other game.”

The main focus, she said, was to win the game.

“I just wanted to play hard and to play well as a team,” she said.

Beidelman, a team captain, reflected on the support she received from her teammates during the

season. “The fact is I wouldn’t have made it to 1,000 without them all,” she said. “They push me to get better every day and have accomplished this with me.”

Beidelman scored 21 points against Huntington and added 10 rebounds for her 16th double-double of the season.

Beidelman is an active member of both the basketball and softball teams at MVNU.
