Spaulding receives four-year renewal
The MVNU Board of Trustees unanimously approved a four-year contract renewal for University President Dr. Henry Spaulding last week.
The Board praised the leadership of MVNU’s seventh president, who was elected in November of 2012.
Spaulding stepped into the position at a time of declining enrollment and a looming financial crisis. Under his leadership the past four years, University enrollment has increased and the budget has stabilized.
“These are outstanding days for MVNU: increasing enrollment, new facilities and programs, and a tremendous sense of forward momentum,” Board of Trustees Chair Dr. Geoff Kunselman said.
Spaulding expressed optimism about the University’s future.
“There will no doubt be challenges ahead, but I trust in the resources of the Christian faith and wisdom of the MVNU community as we move forward together,” he said.
Spaulding came to MVNU in 2009 as provost and chief academic officer. He formerly worked for Trevecca Nazarene University, Eastern Nazarene College and the Nazarene Theological Seminary.
