Volleyball Seniors look back
The MVNU women’s volleyball team continues another impressive season. The team’s overall record is 31-5 and 16-2 in Crossroads league play.
This year’s seniors are Annelise Rohrer, Bridget Troyer, and Carolyn Beatty.
All three have committed four years to the MVNU volleyball team and are highly decorated graduates.
During their time on the team they have achieved a Crossroads League championship and two appearances to the NAIA National Tournament.
Coach Swanson is very proud of his three seniors and grateful for the time they have spent on the court.
When asked what their favorite memory was all three mentioned beating Indian Wesleyan University to win the crossroads league last year.
“My favorite memory was beating IWU in the Crossroads League championship to advance to nationals,” said Beatty. “The atmosphere in the gym was amazing and it was so great to have so many people supporting us. We played so well and together as a team.”
Although they love the game of volleyball what they will miss the most is their teammates and the relationships they built while a part of the MVNU community.
Rohrer is grateful for her teammates on and off the court.
“We always have each other's backs, both on the court and off. We win together, we lose together.,” she said. “We challenge and encourage each other to honor God on and off the court. To be in a group that everyone is committed to and invested in is such a blessing.”
When their MVNU volleyball careers come to a close they want their teammates to know how special the time has been. The three encourage all athletes to enjoy the time they have left on the court or field and never take a moment for granted.
“I would say to cherish every moment with this team, because it goes by so quickly. These have been the best four years of my life, and I love each and every one of my cougar sisters” said Troyer.
