MVNU will host annual Slam Dunks and Slices

MVNU will host the annual Slam Dunks and Slices event for high school students on Jan. 28 and Feb. 4.

The event is sponsored by Admissions as a way to bring potential students to the campus of MVNU. It allows high school students to interact with current students while exposing them to the MVNU community.

There will be free pizza for those who register, a variety of games, and Cougar basketball to conclude the day.

Slam Dunks and Slices is free for youth groups to attend.

Director of Admissions Tracy Waal says the event also benefits the current student body.

“Slam Dunks and Slices is a way for MVNU to give back to the community,” Waal said. “It gives MVNU exposure to many people who have never been to campus before, and it’s a way for current students to invest in potential students.”

MVNU admissions encourages current students to reach out to the visitors as they see them throughout the weekend.

The schedule for Slam Dunks and Slices is tentative.

1:30 p.m. -- Registration at Hyson Campus Center Lobby

1:45-2:30 p.m. -- Pizza Party and Games at Cafeteria

3-5 p.m. -- Men’s Basketball Game
