The MVNU women’s basketball team (10-16, 4-10) added a win and a loss last week, falling to Spring Arbor University in overtime on Wednesday and beating Taylor University on Saturday.
Wednesday evening the score was tied with 0:54 remaining in regulation.

Senior Megan Beidelman drew a foul for MVNU and made both of her free throws at the 0:29 mark.
Junior Autumn Goggin tied it up with a three-pointer for Spring Arbor with 0:24 left, sending the game into overtime.
Spring Arbor beat MVNU 73-60 in overtime.
Freshman Kaela Seiler scored a career-high 16 points and Beidelman earned a double-double with 15 points and 18 rebounds. Junior Sierra Basista tallied 13 points.
The Lady Cougars rebounded with a 73-62 win over Taylor Saturday afternoon.
“Our defense was huge today,” Head Coach Amanda Short said during her post game interview with WNZR.tv. “We took them out of their flow. They were forcing some shots that they don’t usually.”
The Cougars held Taylor to 1-of-13 from the three-point line.
“We had some different people step up,” Short added. It was “huge to have all that contribution.”
The Cougars’ bench added 32 points to the game.
Ellerbrock recorded a double-double with 17 points and a career high of 12 rebounds. Junior Natalie Carpenter added 18 points and Beidelman recorded 10 points and nine rebounds.
“We played great defense and had great rotations,” Ellerbrock said of MVNU’s effort.
The Lady Cougars will host Goshen College at 7 p.m. this Wednesday.
“We will continue to improve [as a team] and finish off this season strong,” Ellerbrock said.
